About the place

Suna & İnan Kıraç Kaleiçi Museum

Kaleiçi Museum is a private museum located in Antalya’s Kaleiçi, housed in two buildings that are both registered as cultural assets requiring preservation. One of the structures is an Orthodox church, and the other is a traditional Turkish house. Suna and İnan Kıraç purchased the dilapidated structures, completed their restoration between 1993-1995, and converted them into a museum in 1996. The two-story residential building is arranged as an ethnographic museum showcasing 19th-century life in Kaleiçi using special effects. Scenes from daily life, such as a henna night, coffee service, and groom’s shave, are depicted. The Orthodox church, named Hagios Georgios Church, serves as a venue where concerts and various art events are also organized. The tile collection of Suna and İnan Kıraç is exhibited in this building. Valuable pieces such as the tile map of Turkey gifted to Atatürk are also located here.
